With a decade of experience in translation and project management, Louise, a native of Hong Kong, is an accomplished language expert adept at facilitating communication across languages and cultures. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Hong Kong and is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists (MCIL). Louise has honed her skills in translation and interpretation while working in the Hong Kong civil service and with Lingoes, a Chinese language service provider in London.

Louise's impressive achievements include translating between Traditional/Simplified Chinese and English in various fields such as finance, marketing, legal aid, scientific research, clinical reports, and subtitles. Notably, she has provided major subtitling work for Netflix's docuseries MH370: The Plane That Disappeared.

Experienced in navigating multicultural environments, Louise has successfully managed projects in the education and compliance sectors in the UK. Her linguistic expertise spans English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, enabling her to work effectively with clients from diverse backgrounds.

In 2023, Louise founded Globalect with a vision to create seamless communication and collaboration across industries. Meet Oscar, a native Cantonese speaker from Hong Kong who is also fluent in Mandarin. After obtaining his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Hong Kong in 2017, he followed his passion for the performing arts by studying theatre drama at Radix Troupe Hong Kong.

Oscar's educational background in accounting and finance has equipped him with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, which are essential in the translation process. His studies have also sharpened his attention to detail and his ability to handle complex information. Furthermore, his training in theatre drama has broadened his cultural horizons, honed his communication and language skills, and enabled him to grasp the nuances of language, which he accurately reflects in his translations.

After his stint in the arts, Oscar ventured into education and worked as an IELTS exam invigilator for the British Council Hong Kong, and as an English teacher for SEEDS Education Services, where he found joy in helping students improve their English proficiency and confidence.

In 2021, Oscar joined Lingoes, a language service provider, as a Translator/Junior Project Manager, and was later promoted to Translator/Project Manager. During his time at Lingoes, he handled a variety of translation projects, and developed expertise in various domains, such as legal, technical, and marketing. He also managed translation projects, ensuring timely delivery and quality assurance. His experience at Lingoes equipped him with the skills and knowledge necessary to become an accomplished translator.

Oscar is passionate about bridging linguistic and cultural barriers through his work. He believes that accurate and culturally appropriate translation is vital to effective communication and mutual understanding. When he's not translating, he enjoys reading about art and exploring new cultures.
